Varanasi, possibly the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city, holds a sacred place in the hearts of Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains alike. Revered by millions, this ancient city is often referred to as Kashi, the City of Light, and is dedicated to Shiva in his form as Vishwanatha, Lord of the Universe. The city’s spiritual significance dates back to at least the sixth century BC and continues to draw millions of pilgrims every year.
After checking in and resting, As evening approaches, we will head to the Ghats of Varanasi for the mesmerizing Ganges Aarti ceremony. Witness Hindu devotees performing the “Puja” with lighted lamps on the riverbanks, accompanied by the sound of cymbals, bells, and chants. We will also enjoy a special evening cruise on the sacred Ganges, providing a stunning view of this timeless ritual.
Day 02: Flight -Varanasi / Delhi (6E 5266 – 17:00 / 18:40 Hrs) Train - Vande Bharat- Varanasi/ Delhi (22435- 15:00 Hrs. / 11:00 Hrs.)
We’ll begin the day with a boat ride on the sacred Ganges at dawn. The river is the heart of Varanasi, and at sunrise, hundreds of worshippers can be seen bathing in its holy waters. The Ghats, a series of stone steps along the river, are lined with temples and shrines, each telling its own story. As we slowly cruise down the river, our guide will point out key temples and landmarks.
The boat ride will take us to Manikarnika Ghat, one of the most sacred cremation sites in Varanasi. It’s a poignant reminder of the city’s dual relationship with life and death. Varanasi is considered the ultimate destination for those seeking salvation, and many come to the Ghats to complete their final journey.
After the boat ride, we’ll walk through the narrow, winding alleys of the old city. These ancient streets have hardly changed in centuries, and this walk offers a glimpse into the timeless nature of Varanasi’s life and culture.
Next, we will visit a Widows Ashram—a poignant and insightful place. Widows, often abandoned by their families due to religious customs, find refuge here. Many women, including those from middle-class families, come to Varanasi seeking spiritual solace, and here they are given shelter, rehabilitation, and the opportunity to learn crafts, bringing them a sense of purpose and dignity.
We will also visit Matri Bhawan, a shelter for the elderly and terminally ill. The place offers a sense of peace and comfort to those who have come to Varanasi for their final days. Volunteers and NGOs provide care for these individuals, giving them the opportunity to experience their last moments with dignity.
After a morning filled with reflection, we will return to the hotel for breakfast Temple Tour & Sarnath before we transfer to the airport for your flight back to Delhi.
After Breakfast visit to several important temples. Our first stop will be the Bharat Mata Temple, inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, which features a massive marble map of India. Next, we will visit the Durga Temple, known for its vibrant red color and the energetic monkeys that roam the temple grounds. This temple is one of Varanasi’s most impressive architectural landmarks.
Later, we’ll head to Banaras Hindu University, a sprawling campus located at the southern end of the city. Here, we’ll visit the New Vishwanatha Temple, a striking white marble structure surrounded by palm trees. Its interior is adorned with Vedic art and inscriptions from the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads, making it a serene and spiritual experience.
In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Sarnath, the revered Buddhist site where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.
After completing Sarnath Tour before we transfer to the airport or Train Station for your flight/Train back to Delhi.
