Day 1: Arrival in Dakar, Senegal - Your West African adventure begins with your arrival at Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar. Upon landing, our local representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to your hotel. After check-in, take some time to rest from your journey. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner where you will be introduced to Senegalese hospitality and local cuisine. Overnight stay in Dakar.

Day 2: Dakar City Tour – Goree Island - After breakfast, embark on a full-day guided city tour of Dakar. Visit Place de l’Indépendance, the Presidential Palace, and the striking African Renaissance Monument. The highlight of the day is a ferry ride to Goree Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its role in the transatlantic slave trade. Explore the House of Slaves Museum and stroll through the island’s colorful streets. Return to Dakar in the evening and relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Dakar.

Day 3: Lake Retba (Pink Lake) – Bandia Reserve – Saly - This morning, head to Lake Retba, famous for its unique pink hue caused by algae and high salt concentration. Take a boat ride to see salt collectors at work and learn about the lake’s ecological importance. Continue to Bandia Wildlife Reserve for a safari experience, spotting giraffes, antelopes, rhinos, and monkeys. In the afternoon, transfer to the resort town of Saly, located along Senegal’s Petite Côte. Check-in and enjoy a relaxing evening by the beach. Overnight stay in Saly.

Day 4: Saly – Joal-Fadiouth – Saint-Louis - After breakfast, drive to Joal-Fadiouth, a unique fishing village connected by a wooden bridge and built on seashells. Explore its Catholic-Muslim cemetery and learn about the peaceful coexistence of different faiths. Continue your journey north to Saint-Louis, the colonial capital of French West Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy an evening stroll along the city’s charming streets. Overnight stay in Saint-Louis.

Day 5: Saint-Louis City Tour – Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary - Start your day with a guided tour of Saint-Louis, exploring its colonial architecture, narrow streets, and lively markets. Later, visit the Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary (seasonal, November to April), home to pelicans, flamingos, and many migratory birds. Enjoy a boat ride through the wetlands to observe the diverse wildlife. Return to Saint-Louis in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 6: Saint-Louis – Kaolack – Banjul, Gambia - Today, journey toward the border between Senegal and The Gambia. Stop briefly in Kaolack, known for its large market and groundnut production. Cross the border and take the ferry across the Gambia River to reach Banjul, the capital of The Gambia. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening. Overnight stay in Banjul.

Day 7: Banjul City Tour – Kachikally Crocodile Pool – Bakau - After breakfast, begin your exploration of Banjul with visits to Arch 22, Albert Market, and the National Museum. Continue to Kachikally Crocodile Pool in Bakau, where you’ll learn about its spiritual significance. In the afternoon, enjoy free time at the beach or explore local craft markets. Overnight stay in Banjul.

Day 8: Gambia River Cruise – Tendaba Villag - Today, set off on a Gambia River cruise, passing through lush mangroves and spotting birdlife. Visit Tendaba Village, where you’ll interact with locals and learn about rural Gambian life. Enjoy a traditional lunch before returning to Banjul in the evening. Overnight stay in Banjul.

Day 9: Makasutu Cultural Forest – Return to Banjul - Head out to Makasutu Cultural Forest, a unique eco-tourism project combining wildlife, cultural experiences, and stunning scenery. Take a guided forest walk to spot baboons, monitor lizards, and various bird species. Participate in cultural activities such as palm wine tapping or pottery making. Return to your hotel for your final evening in Gambia. Overnight stay in Banjul.
