Day 1: Delhi – Corbett National Park (270 Kms / 6–7 Hrs)

Your journey into the wild begins as a Kashiyatra Tours representative warmly receives you at Delhi Airport or Railway Station. After a brief introduction and trip orientation, you'll be driven towards the Corbett National Park, one of India's oldest and most famous wildlife reserves.

As the landscape transitions from cityscape to countryside, the final two hours of your journey will be more than just travel—you’ll make a stop in the forested buffer zones surrounding Corbett for your first bird-watching session. This area is a haven for avian life, where you may spot Crested Serpent Eagles, Kingfishers, Drongos, Woodpeckers, and even Himalayan Griffons, depending on the season.

Upon arrival at your resort, check-in and unwind amidst the tranquil forest setting. The evening is yours to explore the nearby wilderness trails, relax in the serene natural surroundings, or simply listen to the chorus of birds as the sun sets.

Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay at the resort near Corbett National Park.

Day 2: Bird Watching in Corbett National Park

Wake up to the sound of the forest and enjoy a hearty breakfast before beginning a full day immersed in bird-watching and wildlife exploration.

Your day starts with a guided nature walk along the serene banks of the Ramganga River, a vital lifeline of Corbett and a paradise for bird watchers. This stretch is especially famous for water birds like Mergansers, River Lapwings, Waders, and Kingfishers, who thrive along the flowing currents and tranquil pools.

Later in the day, you can opt for an elephant safari—a slow and silent ride that elevates your vantage point and brings you closer to the birdlife hidden in the forest canopy. It’s a moving watchtower, allowing for sightings of rarer species like the Blue-Winged Minla, Lammergeier, White-Rumped Shama, Puff-Throated Babbler, and more. With a bit of luck, you may even catch glimpses of Corbett’s other wild inhabitants—deer, langurs, or even elephants.

Return to the resort by evening. Spend your time reviewing the day’s sightings, relaxing with a warm meal, and enjoying the forest’s peaceful symphony.

Overnight stay at the resort in Corbett.

Day 3: Corbett National Park – Pangot (50 Kms / 2–3 Hrs Drive)

Begin your morning early as the call of the wild beckons once again. After breakfast, check out from your Corbett resort and embark on a scenic drive to Pangot, a quiet birding haven nestled in the dense oak and pine forests on the northwestern slopes of Nainital.

The drive takes about 2–3 hours, winding through terraced valleys, mist-laden hills, and thick woods. Upon arrival in Pangot, check into your charming wildlife cottage, surrounded by tranquil wilderness.

After a brief rest, set out for your first bird-watching session in Pangot, a hotspot for Himalayan avifauna. This region is home to over 250 species of birds, and sightings may include the magnificent Himalayan Griffon, Rufous-Bellied Woodpecker, Blue-Winged Minla, Lammergeier, Slaty-Backed Forktail, and Spotted Forktail, among many others.

Later in the evening, take a gentle stroll along the forest trails, where the crisp mountain air and bird calls offer the perfect retreat into nature.

Overnight stay at the forest cottage in Pangot.

Day 4: Pangot – Sattal (45 Kms / 2–3 Hrs Drive)

Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast amidst the serene wilderness of Pangot. After checking out, continue your birding adventure with a scenic drive to Sattal, a group of seven interconnected freshwater lakes hidden in the dense forest of the lower Himalayas.

En route, enjoy some incredible bird-spotting opportunities as you pass through Cheena Peak Range, Kilbury, and the Snow View Point—each offering panoramic views and sightings of rare Himalayan bird species. This stretch is a birder’s paradise and offers the chance to observe species like the Rufous Sibia, Black-headed Jay, White-throated Laughingthrush, and the Mountain Hawk-Eagle, among others.

Upon reaching Sattal, check in to your comfortable hotel or forest lodge nestled in the heart of nature. After some rest, set out for a leisurely bird-watching session around the lake, where tranquil waters, oak forests, and chirping birds create a truly magical atmosphere.

Overnight stay at Sattal, where the calm of the forest sets the perfect tone for the final leg of your birding journey.

Day 5: Sattal – Nainital – Delhi Departure

Begin your final day in the hills with an early breakfast amidst the fresh, pine-scented air of Sattal. Soon after, check out from the lodge and head towards Nainital, a picturesque hill town nestled around a shimmering lake and surrounded by forested hills.

En route, make brief stops for bird-watching—this region is home to more than 500 species of birds, and early mornings offer prime viewing opportunities. Keep your binoculars ready for the Green-tailed Sunbird, Rufous-bellied Niltava, and the Himalayan Bulbul, which are often spotted in these parts.

Once in Nainital, enjoy some leisure time exploring the vibrant local bazaar, ideal for shopping local souvenirs, handcrafted woolens, or traditional Kumaoni items. Soak in the views of Naini Lake one last time as you enjoy lunch at a local eatery.

In the afternoon, your Kashiyatra Tours representative will assist you in your drive back to Delhi Airport or Railway Station, marking the end of your 5-day bird-watching retreat in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

Head home with your heart full of memories and your mind echoing with the chirps and calls of the Himalayan wild.
