Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Kigali, known for its cleanliness and warm hospitality, offers a perfect first impression of Rwanda. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a short city tour visiting local markets and craft centers. Overnight stay in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, embark on a guided Kigali city tour, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which offers profound insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. Visit local artisan markets to explore traditional crafts. In the afternoon, drive south toward Nyungwe National Park, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and picturesque countryside. Arrive at your lodge in the evening and relax amidst nature. Dinner and overnight stay in Nyungwe.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest

Start early for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in Nyungwe Forest, one of Africa’s oldest rainforests. Accompanied by expert rangers, trek through lush vegetation to encounter playful chimpanzees in their natural habitat. The forest is also home to many bird species and rare flora. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy the Canopy Walk, offering panoramic views of the forest and wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay in Nyungwe.

Day 4: Nyungwe – Lake Kivu

After breakfast, depart for Lake Kivu, Rwanda’s largest lake, famous for its scenic beauty and calm waters. Arrive in the charming lakeside town of Kibuye. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or take a boat ride to nearby islands. The peaceful surroundings make this a perfect day to unwind after trekking. Dinner and overnight stay at a lakeside resort.

Day 5: Lake Kivu – Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning by the lake before driving north to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The scenic drive offers stunning views of Rwanda’s hilly landscapes and farmlands. Arrive at your lodge near the park and prepare for the next day’s adventure. Dinner and overnight stay in Volcanoes National Park area.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Today is the highlight of your Rwanda journey – Gorilla Trekking. After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the forest with an experienced guide. Trek through bamboo forests, streams, and hills until you encounter a gorilla family. Watching these gentle giants in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience. After spending an hour with them, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you may visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan traditions. Dinner and overnight stay near the park.

Day 7: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some last-minute shopping or visit local cafés before being transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
