Day 1: Arrival in Dunedin – Heritage Walk and Coastal Sunset - Arrive at Dunedin Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city center. After settling in, take time to refresh before starting your first exploration. Begin your journey with a heritage walking tour through central Dunedin. Discover beautifully preserved Victorian and Edwardian architecture, iconic structures like the Dunedin Railway Station, and the lively city hub at The Octagon. Your walk will pass through First Church, Municipal Chambers, and the historic University of Otago campus, New Zealand’s oldest university. In the evening, head to St. Clair Beach, a stunning stretch of golden sand with surf-friendly waves. Take a beachside walk, watch the surfers in action, or relax with a hot chocolate at one of the oceanfront cafés. As the sun sets behind the hills, the colors over the sea make for a perfect photo opportunity. Overnight stay in Dunedin.

Day 2: Otago Peninsula – Wildlife Encounters & Albatross Colony - After breakfast, embark on a full-day adventure across the Otago Peninsula, known for its rugged coastlines, dramatic cliffs, and unique wildlife. Drive through winding coastal roads with panoramic views of the Otago Harbour. Your first stop is Larnach Castle, New Zealand’s only castle. Take a self-guided tour through lavish rooms and stroll the beautifully manicured gardens while learning stories of love, loss, and legend. Continue to the Royal Albatross Centre at Taiaroa Head. Join a guided tour to observe the majestic royal albatross—one of the world’s largest seabirds—as they nest and soar in the strong coastal winds. Learn about the peninsula's military history and Māori cultural significance along the way. Later, visit Allans Beach or Sandfly Bay, where you might spot fur seals, sea lions, and possibly even penguins coming ashore by evening. These remote coastal spots offer scenic hiking opportunities for adventure lovers. Return to Dunedin for overnight stay.

Day 3: Dunedin’s Natural Wonders – Tunnel Beach & Signal Hill - Get ready for an active day of natural exploration. Start with a trip to Tunnel Beach, famous for its sandstone cliffs, sea-carved arches, and dramatic ocean views. A short but steep trail leads you down through a hand-carved tunnel to a secluded beach surrounded by towering rock formations. The effort is rewarded with one of Dunedin’s most iconic coastal vistas. After your coastal hike, head to Signal Hill Lookout. The panoramic view from the summit encompasses the entire city, the harbor, and distant mountain ranges. It’s a great spot to enjoy a picnic lunch or simply relax and take in the scenery. In the afternoon, visit Otago Museum, which adds a touch of cultural depth to your journey. Engage with exhibits on Māori history, geology, and native wildlife. The Tūhura Science Centre and Planetarium offer interactive experiences for travelers of all ages. Evening is free to explore local cafes or shop for souvenirs. Overnight stay in Dunedin.

Day 4: Taieri Gorge Train Journey & Baldwin Street Challenge - This morning, take one of the most scenic train rides in the southern hemisphere aboard the Taieri Gorge Railway. Departing from Dunedin’s historic railway station, the journey weaves through deep ravines, across viaducts, and alongside cliff faces, offering ever-changing views of Otago’s inland beauty. The commentary onboard shares stories of gold mining, engineering feats, and remote communities. Return by early afternoon and enjoy lunch in town before heading to Baldwin Street, the steepest residential street in the world. Challenge yourself with a walk to the top or take fun photos that play with the unusual angles. It’s a quirky but rewarding experience. Later, unwind at Dunedin Botanic Gardens, where exotic plants, native forest trails, and aviaries create a relaxing atmosphere. End your day with a relaxed dinner at a local bistro or pub with live Kiwi music. Overnight stay in Dunedin.

Day 5: Departure – Farewell to Dunedin’s Adventure - After breakfast, depending on your flight timing, you may choose to take a final stroll around George Street for some last-minute shopping or grab a warm drink at a nearby café. Check out from your hotel and proceed to the airport for your departure. With your heart full of wild experiences, majestic views, and memorable stories, you leave Dunedin with a true sense of New Zealand’s adventurous soul. Tour ends with unforgettable moments curated by Kashiyatra Tours.
