Day 1: Arrival in Beijing, China - Arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport, where our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, relax from your long journey. In the evening, you can stroll around the lively Wangfujing Street, famous for its shopping and street food. Try authentic Beijing snacks or simply soak in the city’s vibrant night atmosphere. Overnight stay in Beijing.
Day 2: Beijing – Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven - After breakfast, embark on a guided city tour of Beijing. Begin at the Forbidden City, once the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Explore its grand halls, courtyards, and intricate architecture while learning about China’s royal past. Next, visit Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square, surrounded by iconic landmarks.
In the afternoon, head to the Temple of Heaven, where emperors once prayed for good harvests. Its circular Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is a masterpiece of Ming architecture. Conclude your day with a traditional Peking duck dinner, one of Beijing’s most famous culinary experiences. Overnight stay in Beijing.
Day 3: Beijing – The Great Wall & Summer Palace - Today is dedicated to exploring China’s most iconic symbol: the Great Wall of China. Travel to the Mutianyu section, known for its stunning scenery and fewer crowds. Walk along the ancient stone pathways and take in panoramic mountain views. For adventure seekers, a cable car ride or toboggan slide offers a thrilling way to experience the Wall.
In the afternoon, return to Beijing and visit the Summer Palace, a vast imperial garden with lakes, bridges, and pavilions. Stroll along the Long Corridor, cruise on Kunming Lake, and admire the Marble Boat. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay in Beijing.
Day 4: Beijing – Xi’an by High-Speed Train - After breakfast, board a high-speed train to Xi’an, one of China’s oldest cities and the starting point of the Silk Road. On arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a walk around the ancient Xi’an City Wall, one of the best-preserved city walls in China. You may choose to rent bicycles and ride along the top for a unique experience. Dinner features Xi’an specialties such as dumplings. Overnight stay in Xi’an.
Day 5: Xi’an – Terracotta Warriors & Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Today, explore one of the world’s greatest archaeological discoveries: the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Marvel at the thousands of life-sized clay soldiers, each with unique expressions, built to guard the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a historic Buddhist structure built in the Tang dynasty. It was a key site for translating Buddhist scriptures brought from India. Later, wander through the lively Muslim Quarter, known for its food stalls and local crafts. Overnight stay in Xi’an.
Day 6: Xi’an – Chongqing – Yangtze River Cruise - After breakfast, take a flight to Chongqing, the gateway to the Yangtze River. On arrival, transfer to the port and board your deluxe Yangtze River Cruise. Settle into your cabin and enjoy a welcome dinner on board. As the cruise sets sail, admire the illuminated skyline of Chongqing. Overnight stay on the cruise.
Day 7: Yangtze River Cruise – Shibaozhai Pagoda - Today, enjoy your first full day on the Yangtze. Stop at Shibaozhai Pagoda, a 12-story wooden temple built into a cliff along the riverbank. Explore this engineering marvel and learn about its cultural significance. Back on board, relax with onboard entertainment, cultural lectures, or simply enjoy the breathtaking river views from the deck. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 8: Yangtze River Cruise – Three Gorges - Today’s highlight is cruising through the Three Gorges: Qutang, Wu, and Xiling. These dramatic gorges are famous for their towering cliffs, misty peaks, and scenic beauty. Disembark for a shore excursion to a tributary, where smaller boats take you deeper into serene valleys. In the evening, enjoy the Captain’s Banquet and onboard performances. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 9: Yangtze River – Yichang – Shanghai - In the morning, visit the impressive Three Gorges Dam Project, the world’s largest hydroelectric dam. Learn about its scale, significance, and environmental impact. After disembarkation in Yichang, take a flight to Shanghai. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Shanghai.
Day 10: Shanghai City Tour - After breakfast, explore Shanghai, a city where tradition meets modernity. Visit Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden with pavilions, rockeries, and ponds. Next, stroll through the Bund, Shanghai’s historic riverside promenade lined with colonial architecture and overlooking the futuristic skyline of Pudong.
In the afternoon, visit Shanghai Tower, China’s tallest building, for a bird’s-eye view of the city. Conclude with a walk along Nanjing Road, famous for shopping and dining. In the evening, you may enjoy an optional acrobatic show. Overnight stay in Shanghai.
Day 11: Shanghai – Suzhou & Hangzhou Excursion - Take a day trip to Suzhou, known as the “Venice of the East.” Visit its classical gardens, such as the Humble Administrator’s Garden, and enjoy a short cruise on the Grand Canal. Continue to Hangzhou, famous for its beautiful West Lake, surrounded by temples, gardens, and tea plantations. After sightseeing, return to Shanghai for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Shanghai – Tokyo, Japan - After breakfast, fly to Tokyo, Japan. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in. In the evening, explore the neon-lit streets of Shinjuku or enjoy a quiet dinner at a traditional izakaya (Japanese pub). Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Day 13: Tokyo City Tour - Today, explore Tokyo’s highlights. Visit Meiji Shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji, and stroll through the forested grounds. Continue to Asakusa, home to the historic Sensoji Temple and Nakamise shopping street.
Next, experience modern Tokyo at Shibuya Crossing and take photos at the Hachiko Statue. In the afternoon, ascend the Tokyo Skytree for panoramic city views. Spend the evening at leisure in Ginza or Odaiba. Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Day 14: Tokyo – Mount Fuji & Hakone Excursion - Take a day trip to the iconic Mount Fuji. Travel to the 5th Station for spectacular mountain views. Continue to Hakone, where you’ll cruise on Lake Ashi and ride the Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani Valley, known for its volcanic landscapes. Return to Tokyo in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 15: Tokyo – Kyoto & Nara by Shinkansen - After breakfast, board the Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. On arrival, visit the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) and the Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of red torii gates. Later, drive to Nara to see the Great Buddha of Todai-ji Temple and interact with friendly deer at Nara Park. In the evening, return to Kyoto and explore the atmospheric Gion District. Overnight stay in Kyoto.
Day 16: Kyoto – Osaka Departure - On your final day, visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, perched on a hillside with sweeping city views. Depending on your flight time, enjoy some last-minute shopping in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi district. Later, transfer to Kansai International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable China–Japan Tour with Kashiyatra Tours.
