Day 1: Arrival in Algiers
Arrive at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, where our local representative will greet you. Transfer to your hotel and check in. Depending on arrival time, take a short evening stroll through the city, perhaps visiting the seafront promenade or a nearby café to enjoy your first taste of Algerian hospitality. Dinner and overnight stay in Algiers.

Day 2: Algiers City Tour
After breakfast, embark on a guided exploration of Algiers. Visit the Casbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with narrow alleys, Ottoman-era palaces, and bustling markets. Explore the Ketchaoua Mosque, Martyrs’ Memorial, and the elegant French colonial architecture along Boulevard Che Guevara. Stroll through the Jardin d’Essai du Hamma, one of Africa’s finest botanical gardens. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Algiers.

Day 3: Algiers to Ghardaïa – Gateway to the Sahara
After breakfast, take a domestic flight to Ghardaïa, located in the M’zab Valley, another UNESCO-listed site. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and begin exploring this remarkable oasis town. Wander through its ksour (fortified villages), palm groves, and traditional markets. Learn about the Ibadi Muslim culture that has shaped this region for centuries. Overnight in Ghardaïa.

Day 4: Ghardaïa Exploration
Spend a full day discovering Ghardaïa and the surrounding villages of Beni Isguen, Melika, and El Atteuf. Admire the distinctive architecture, with flat-roofed houses built in harmony with the desert environment. Visit local handicraft workshops producing carpets, silver jewellery, and pottery. In the evening, enjoy a serene walk among the palm groves as the sun sets. Overnight in Ghardaïa.

Day 5: Ghardaïa to Timimoun – The Red Oasis
Travel by flight or 4x4 convoy to Timimoun, famously known as the “Red Oasis” due to its striking red-earth architecture and dramatic desert scenery. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel or traditional guesthouse. Explore the oasis’ ksar, narrow streets, and palm gardens. Timimoun’s backdrop of golden dunes and salt lakes offers breathtaking photo opportunities. Overnight in Timimoun.

Day 6: Timimoun Desert Excursion
Set out for a full-day 4x4 adventure into the surrounding Sahara. Visit remote ksour, ancient caravan routes, and rock formations sculpted by wind over millennia. Stop at palm-filled oases to enjoy tea with local residents. In the afternoon, watch the dunes transform in colour as the sun sets, casting a magical glow over the desert. Return to Timimoun for overnight stay.

Day 7: Timimoun to Taghit
After breakfast, journey to Taghit, one of Algeria’s most scenic desert towns. Known for its massive sand dunes and ancient rock engravings, Taghit is often called the “jewel of the Saoura.” Check into your accommodation and spend the afternoon exploring the ksar, palm groves, and the famous “Grand Dune.” Overnight stay in Taghit.

Day 8: Taghit Desert Experience
Enjoy another full day in the Sahara, this time exploring the desert landscapes around Taghit. Visit prehistoric rock art sites that date back thousands of years, evidence of the Sahara’s once-lush environment. Climb the Grand Dune for panoramic views, or simply relax in the tranquillity of the oasis. As evening falls, gather for a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by local music. Overnight in Taghit.

Day 9: Departure from Algiers
After breakfast, transfer to the local airport for your flight back to Algiers. Connect with your international departure, carrying with you memories of Algeria’s sweeping desert vistas, warm hospitality, and rich cultural heritage.
